Rail freight wagons

W H Davis design and manufacture virtually any type of freight rail wagon. Recent contracts have included bespoke sleeper carriers to cater for on-board travelling gantry cranes; high capacity hoppers for the transport of minerals and well wagons fitted with double bogies for the safe movement of nuclear product.

W H Davis can refurbish existing wagons (and containers) or modify to suit other products and markets - a recent example being the conversion of open box wagons into covered steel coil carriers. This can (typically) lengthen the service life of the asset by up to 20 years.

Once manufactured, converted or refurbished, W H Davis can offer full maintenance and repair support services on a nationwide basis through its subsidiary Davis Wagon Services.

Always looking to the future, a recent innovation is the development of a low deck wagon design for the movement of the latest 'high-cube' containers which can range from 9ft 6in to 10ft 6in in height.
