Mechanical Design Engineer – Railway Freight Wagons

W H Davis has a vacancy for a Design Engineer, preferably with railway industry experience

Requirements/Experience:

Work on own initiative or/and as part of a team
Produce conceptual designs and specifications
Review and develop existing designs and conceptual designs into full manufacturing drawings
Produce parts lists from drawings
Undertake structural /stress analysis and design calculations
Consider manufacturing and welding requirements
Incorporate pneumatic brake systems within a design and produce schematics and brake calculations
Attend customer design review meetings and liaise with industry bodies

Computer Skills:

AutoCAD
SolidWorks Modeling
FEA software
